1834 South Adams was a two-story building on the northeast corner of South Adams and Chicago Street. Only two hotels were at this address; the Gilt Edge Hotel in 1904, and the Aetna Hotel in 1907. In some other years it was listed as furnished rooms. From 1939 to 1943, the address is listed as vacant. Starting in 1944 until about 1955 the address is listed as a warehouse for Meyer Furnace Company, which may be the building standing today. The current Google Maps shows a one-story building with the Unclaimed Freight Stores (UFS) logo, but appears to be vacant.
