Most city directories contain many typographical errors, which have been copied below as printed.

500 South Adams was at the south-east corner of South Adams at Bridge (Franklin), which is on the river side of Adams.

The 500 block of South Adams was a vacant lot in the 1890 PCD, and then in the 1891 PCD, it appears as a new building housing the Troy Steam Laundry and other businesses.

The address is currently the approximate location of the Adams Street on-ramp to the Bob Michel Bridge over the Illinois River, and a parking lot.
